International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 25 November
"Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation,
public health pandemic and serious obstacle to sustainable development.
It imposes large-scale costs on families, communities and economies.
The world cannot afford to pay this price."
Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General
Why This International Day?
Violence against women is a human rights violation.
Violence against women is a consequence of discrimination against women,
in law and also in practice,
and of persisting inequalities between men and women.
Violence against women impacts on, and impedes,
progress in many areas, including poverty eradication,
combating HIV/AIDS, and peace and security.
Violence against women and girls is not inevitable.
Prevention is possible and essential.
Violence against women continues to be a global pandemic.

OUR FOURTH LTT
All partners with students met together for the fourth short-term learning/teaching/training activity from 9th October to 15th October 2016 at Helen Keller Schule in Maulburg, Germany.
It was a great week for students, teachers and also families that met new friends from other countries, experienced new situations and shared opinions too. The theme was "RESPECT" so we worked about this topic with posters, performances, poems, songs. We worked hard and we are satisfied for what we planned. The students enjoyed the different activities planned that is different workshops - circus, football, drums, cooking, forestand much more - . It was really great because HKS is a special school and students could face another reality and live new experiences. There were also two cultural excursions : Luzern and the Black Forest . All together had a great time during the culture night : tasting different foods from the different countries , singing and dancing too.
A great week for everyone
